Profile database is a compilation of roast profiles used on particular single origin or blends of green beans. It aims to offer new and seasoned home roasters an avenue to share and exchange roast experience through a set of parameters typically used in non-production environment. Roast profile provides information such as the bean origin, batch size before and after roast, bean size, roasting ambient temperature and relative humidity, bean relative humidity, roasting temperature/time profile or settings, pH readings, brewing method tested on the roasted batch, taste and aroma description of test cups, SCAA roast degree, equivalent Agtron roast number, roasting country, etc.
Through such a roasting profile database, QCRC aims to provide benefits to fellow coffee roasting enthusiasts:
Share roasting experience for single origin or blended beans
Share taste information of roasted beans with information on how to achieve the same roast
Encourage home roasters to exchange roasting tips and experiences
Encourage coffee roasting across the entire roast styles, especially the medium and light roast.
